Traveling to Sierra Leone
If you are travelling to Sierra Leone or transiting through it, your passport, Identity card or Emergency Travelling Certificate will be checked at the border crossing point. This could be at the airport, a land border or a sea port. The same checks will be carried out if you are leaving the country.
What you need to travel to Sierra Leone
This depends on whether or not you are an ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) or non ECOWAS citizen.

- Sierra Leone
- If you are a non-ECOWAS citizen, you will require a visa in addition to a valid passport to travel to or transit through the country.
